Our Spirituality

The spirituality of this congregation is the lifeblood of all that we do. We continue to be an open, tolerance, and compassionate community.

We celebrate that we all come from somewhere. Our diversity is our strength. It enriches and stretches us in so many wonderful ways. All while we stay rooted to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. He is the reason for our being and the inspiration for our life together.

Openness, Tolerance, Freedom, Compassion, and Love

"Jesus didn't turn people away. Neither do we."

No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome at

A basic understanding of the uniqueness of The United Church of Christ can be summarized in four key words: Christian, Reformed, Congregational, Evangelical.

United Church of Christ

3450 S. Biscayne Drive, North Port, is offering many unique and exciting experiences throughout Holy Week.

The Week begins Sunday April 9, at 10:00 AM, with a Palm Sunday Worship Service including special music and the waving of palms.  That evening at 6:30 PM, there will be a brief Bible Study on the meaning of Palm Sunday, followed at 7:30 PM by a Celebration Worship Service opening with a dramatic processional with Jesus coming into Jerusalem while "The King is Coming" (Gaither) is sung, accompanied by drums.  "Up-tempo" praise choruses and scripture reflection will help those present begin Holy Week with hearts filled with expectation.

On Holy Thursday, April 13, at 7:30 pm "The Living Lord's Supper," (click here for more on "The Living Lord's Supper) an original dramatic presentation written by Pastor Mary McQueen, will be presented.  Music by professional Christian musician singer, Gary Randall, will add to the beautiful evening of reflection on Jesus' last night with the Disciples.

On Good Friday, (the 14th), from 12:00 noon to 12:45 PM, Rev. John Bonebreak will join Rev. Mary McQueen in a dialogue sermon on Christ'MCj01560730000[1].gif" width="107" height="180" align="right"> Gaither's "Mary Did You Know?" and conclude with an opportunity to nail sins to the cross as "It is Finished!" takes on a new meaning.
